is the poorest country in the world according to the classification published each year by the UNDP (United Nations Program for Development).
There was an 11 fold increase in Niger's population during the 20th century and today its population has reached 12,5 million inhabitants. If
the current trend continues Niger will have more than 50 million inhabitants in 2050.
50% of the teenagers are married and one out of three will be mother before the age of 18 years. The prevalence of a reliable method of
contraception is 4%.
The Nigerian part of the "Mona Lisa Africa" pilot program should include 2,750 women.
